Upcoming Classes

This class will meet for two days, 4 hours per day. This hands-on course will provide participants with an overview of safety and 2-D technique, including preparing of appropriate substrates, application of wax and proper fusing methods. We will also consider the use of collage, texture, color mixing, and incising lines. This course is appropriate for students new to encaustic as well as those with some experience looking for a refresher.

GROUP CLASS (3-4 people): $300
SEMI-PRIVATE (2 people): $360
Price includes all materials: paint, panels, and use of my heating units and tools. 

This class will meet for three days, 4 hours per day. We will also consider the use of collage, texture, color mixing, Incising lines and image transfer. This course is appropriate for students new to encaustic as well as those with some experience looking for a refresher.

This class will meet for four days, 4 hours per day. This hands-on course will provide participants with an overview of safety and 2-D technique, including preparing of appropriate substrates, application of wax and proper fusing methods. We will also consider the use of collage, stencils, texture, color mixing, Incising lines and image transfer. We will touch on incorporating other mediums into wax, such as oil paints, pastel, and inks. This course is appropriate for students new to encaustic as well as those with some experience looking for a refresher.

GROUP CLASS (3-4 people): $500
SEMI-PRIVATE (2 people): $600

3 hour sessions (minimum): $175.00
Price includes use of my equipment and paint; substrates are additional. Extra hours over 3 at $50 per hour.  

Open studio time is available at my discretion and subject to my schedule for experienced encaustic painters. Instruction is not provided. 

$50 per hour / Prepaid $250 (6 hours)
Included in the price is the use of all equipment and paint. Substrates will be available for purchase separately.
